Setting Up A Smoking Room in Your House
If a family member or guest smokes in a household of non-smokers, this would create an extremely unpleasant experience for those who do not smoke. Therefore, smokers are forced to go outside the house to have a puff or two. A better way is have a smoking room. A smoking room is where guests can light up cigarettes, play table games, chat, or drink without spewing smoke to other places in the house.
Usually, only rich residences, restaurants, cafes, office buildings, and certain public facilities have smoking rooms. But with some simple additions and modifications to an extra room, you can have your own smoking room.
First, get rid of all flammable items in the room such as carpeting and wallpaper. A stray ember can be dangerous if it lands on these items. Once these dangerous items are taken care of, install a ventilation system. Even if the you plan to open the windows, it is still advisable to have a system that can clear the room for smoke. That is because uncontrollable circumstances such as bad weather may require you to close the windows.
After cleaning the room, place a table at the centre. A small, round table or a playing table that is used for cards is excellent. For a centrepiece, you can place a hookah. A hookah makes a great centrepiece because of its exquisite design and colour.
You can also add in a bureau where you can add a hookah family, photos, figurines, and other decorations. Inside the bureau, you can place cards, chess sets, checkers, and other table games. If your room is big enough, you can add a bar and stock up on wine and wine glasses. Finally, place a sign which indicates that this is a smoking room to keep non-smokers out.
