Removing Smoke Odour from Your Car's Interior
Nothing can be as off-putting as a car interior that smells of smoke, particularly cigarette smoke. The odour can stick to the upholstery and a thin film of tar can even coat some of the plastic panels within the vehicle. So that you can get rid of this unpleasant scent, here are some methods you can employ to eliminate or at least reduce smoke odour.
Make sure that you thoroughly vacuum your seats as well as the carpet to remove all traces of loose dirt. Then spray upholstery cleaner on the seats and carpet. Spray some on the headliner, too, and let the solution sit for a total of five minutes. Next, scrub the seats, carpet, and headliner using a handheld scrub brush. Afterwards, remember to vacuum up any residues that you find.
Get a spray bottle and fill it with vinegar, then spray all the plastic panels such as the dash and centre console. Let it sit for several minutes and then scrub these panels with a rag. The vinegar will help in eliminating the film on the plastic parts which contribute to the bad cigarette smell. Later on, after the seats and the carpet have dried completely, sprinkle some baking soda on them. Shut the car doors and leave the baking soda on these interior components for a whole night. In the morning, use the vacuum once more to get rid of the baking soda.
By utilising a combination of substances and methods, you can make sure that your car will be smelling fresh and clean again.
